Care & maintenance
It’s your pride, take care of it accordingly!
Stone type
Classic quartz
Unlike natural stone, quartz does not need sealing or waxing to protect it from stains and mildew, even on a white quartz countertop. Quartz is an extremely durable material, and the list of “don’t s” is very short.
- Simple Cleaning. A splash of warm soapy water will do. Using highly alkaline or acidic cleaners will hurt your quartz counters. If an extremely acidic or alkaline solution falls on your countertops run and grab a wet cloth dipped in water and mild detergent then clean it up
- Cleaning Products Use your regular home cleaning
- Practice Heat Caution Always- place hot cookware on trivet and hot pads.
Stone type
Marble
Marble counters are stunning to look at and are more durable than almost any other stone material if you take care of it. There are good-quality marbles, such as the world-famous products from Carrara, Italy, are dense and relatively non-porous. However, because marble softer than granite or quartz, it sometimes allows scratches and chips, and allows oils and stains to seep into the stone.
We say that as long as you choose carefully, know what to expect, and care for white marble countertops, they can be a beautiful, functional choice for your kitchen design that lasts a lifetime
Do the following for the care & maintenance of marble:
- Start with a good sealant.Marble is one of the more porous stones, so you have to protect the surface by keeping it well sealed. We recommend sealing marble every “6-12 months”
- Clean daily—use a sponges and mild dish soap
- An acidic kitchen liquid like lemon juice or vinegar will etch marble, leaving a dull, whitish mark where it has slightly eaten away the surface, even after the marble has been sealed. Avoid liquids such as this from sitting on the surface.
- To Remove stains and etching- When cleaning with mild soap and water doesn’t work, use cornstarch to remove grease stains. This with bleach, applied with an abrasive sponge. That will remove the sealant and allow you to scrub down to the stain. Reseal after scrubbing.
- Try baking soda or comet to reduce scratches.
Stone type
GRANITE
- We recommend sealing granite countertops every “3-5 years”, but there is no hard and fast rule. Granite is a unique and natural material that is extremely durable, resistant to high temperatures, and easy to clean
- Avoid letting acidic spills remain on your granite countertop.
- Avoid using knives directly on the granite
- Avoid putting hot pans on your countertop.
- Don’t sit or stand on your granite countertop- more especially around basin or hob cut-outs
